NYC Bagel Tours Unveils the “Perfect Bagel” Baking Class with Award-Winning Baker Reva Castillenti

New York, NY (April 18, 2023) - A new bagel baking class, called the “Perfect Bagel,” has just been announced. The course is a collaboration between rock star bread baker Reva Castillenti and New York's “Bagel Ambassador” and founder of NYC Bagel Tours Sam Silverman.
Under the capable tutelage of Reva Castillenti, Perfect Bagel students will learn the traditional techniques of hand-rolling, shaping, boiling and baking bagels from scratch, while Sam Silverman will provide insight into the cultural history of this beloved food.
"Our goal is to give participants a truly authentic and immersive experience in the art of bagel-making," said Sam Silverman. "We're excited to share our knowledge and passion for bagels with people from all over the world, and help them gain a deeper appreciation for this iconic New York staple." Perfect Bagel baking classes will take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the year, with classes lasting approximately two hours.
Culinary arts teacher Reva Castillenti is a renowned bread baker and instructor who has been perfecting her craft for over a decade. She’s worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens in New York City, including Brooklyn Kitchen, where she taught bagel, sourdough and other bread making classes for 3 years. Reva’s bagels won second place at the World Bread Awards in both 2018 and 2019. Reva is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with others and is excited to work alongside Sam Silverman to teach participants the art of crafting the perfect bagel.
"Bagels are a true staple of New York cuisine, and I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Sam to share our love and knowledge of this iconic food," said Reva. "Our class will not only teach the techniques behind crafting delicious bagels, but also the cultural significance and history behind them."
